Bio

Neil Allen joined the NHS in 1988 and following a Diploma in Healthcare Management in 2003, became a Facilities Manager at Whipps Cross University Hospital.

​

Following sea changes to compliance with new Hazardous Waste Regulations in 2005, Neil became the hospitals Waste Manager in 2006; solely responsible for the hospitals safe management of waste, its contracts, compliance, training and writing the Waste Management Policy.

​

In 2012, Whipps Cross University Hospital merged with Newham University Hospital, the Royal London Hospital and St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, to become Barts Health NHS Trust. Neil became the first Waste Manager at Barts Health and continues in this role today.

​

Neil's has set the standard for sustainable waste management and has won many awards as a result. As an early member of the GASP team he has helped steer us to where we are today.
